Hi Wael and all my other hapkido friends...

I've been training like a maniac...so much to learn and re-learn. Going over my test materials, almost there but have to also go over all previous techniques...I find when I'm tired I become brain dead and I can't remember my techniques...any suggestions???
I also dropped 7 lbs, which was a goal. Feeling strong and my knees haven't been bothering me at all....that's a good thing. Of course I 'm not eating any carbs...in the real world that doesn't fly...
teaching like mad, since I'm now working the desk, every time a teacher doesn't show I teach..it's okay , I'm perfectly fine with that..not too many people at this dojang know the extent of my previous training.
Tonight during sparring , I was reprimanded by a black belt about keeping sideways, etc.
They have know idea I come form a fight school, knock'em sock'em style...Just try hitting me, sometimes it happens but I don't bat an eyelash ( even if it hurts)...Just pumps me up..
That's why I never under estimate the person I'm sparring with, never know what kind of training they have had previously...also newer belts are less predictable.. TRUE?

Hey, good night guys...too hyped up to sleep... SteelyJan

I do have most my techniques written down for the most part, even put clip art in to match the subjects, for example chokes from behind..etc. the problem is if you don't go over them with a partner consistently you forget the specific technique in thats series...Been drilling a lot, never know what they will toss in...I've been working hard, not taking care of other things in my life...It will be great after it's over, 1 1/2 days to go....think of me on Friday evening...

This may or may not help, but I have always had students write their techniques down in detail as they learn them. Then before black belt they go back through and re-write them in detail again from memory. I then would have them do it again sometime after black belt.

Not only does this give you another way to remember and review your techniques, helping to solidify them in your memory, but the re-writing gives you an opportunity to see the evolution of your understanding of the techniques.

Plus, now you have a reference guide written in your own words you can refer to at any time.

Yes, white belts are scary. They have no control and you never know what they will do. They use too much power on joint locks and don't know when to stop.

Good for you about dropping weight and no knee pain. That's great.

I get the same way when I'm deeply tired, I can't think at all. A quick carb boost usually helps. Doesn't have to be anything dramatic. Even a quick gulp of Gatorade will help.
